Justice Sam Nuchia is serving in his second term on the court. Prior to his election to the court, Justice Nuchia served for 26 years on the Houston Police Department, retiring as Chief, and for 5 years as an Assistant United States Attorney.

Judge Nuchia obtained his bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and his law degree, with honors, from South Texas College of Law. Judge Nuchia is one of the three presiding judges for the Court. He has served on the Court for 11 years.

He and his wife Liz are residents of Waller County. They have three grown children and four grand children.
