Rebeca Huddle was appointed to the First Court of Appeals by Governor Perry in 2011. She previously was a partner in the trial department of Baker Botts L.L.P., where she specialized in complex civil litigation. Her practice included trials and appeals of various types of litigation, including shareholder actions, commercial disputes, and personal injury matters. She tried multiple cases to verdict, often as first-chair trial counsel, and participated in numerous arbitration proceedings involving broker-dealers of securities.

Justice Huddle was born in El Paso, where she attended Stephen F. Austin High School. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from Stanford University and graduated from The University of Texas School of Law with honors. She is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation and for several years has been a volunteer with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.

Justice Huddle is married to Greg Huddle. They have two children, Isabel (5) and Emma (3), and are members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
